San Francisco de Quito is the name of the Capital City of Ecuador given by the Spaniards since they arrived to this land in 1534, but this millennial city had already inhabitants living here from times before Christ, one of the cultures that inhabited the eastern slopes of the Pichincha Volcano were the “Quitus”, from whom the name of the City was originated.
During the tour you are going to admire the city from “El Panecillo” view point, enjoy of the flavours and colours of the fruits and vegetables at San Francisco Market and walk around the most important plazas, churches and monasteries of the colonial town as: San Francisco, La Compañía de Jesus and the Independence Plaza where we´ll see the ceremony of the change of guards of the Government Palace.

Join this full day tour of Quito City. The tour starts with an overview by air-conditioned vehicle and photo stops, before a walking tour of the City centre. after lunch, we will continue the tour with a visit to the equator. The tour is conducted by a local guide, who will explain the City as you travel around it.
